MORE INFORMATION

Inspired by the simple yet profound teaching of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba “Love All Serve All” the trust was initially established in 2014.The founder Managing Trustee Mrs. Vijaylashimi Srinivasan, has been ardent devotee of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba since very young age as her mother herself was the ardent devotee of Bhagwan SriSathya Sai Baba and had been visiting Puttaparthi during 1970 onwards.

Mrs. Vijayalashmi Srinivasan’s devotion was so profound and deep. She had been a regular volunteer for service ever since she was in Madurai. Despite all sort of difficulties and failing health never dissuaded her from engaging in service activities organised by the Seva organisation wing of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.Whether in Madurai, Kodaikanal or Puttaparthy, she was ever present and that earned her name“Amma” to all the members of Samithi’s belonging to Madurai District.

Nearly for two decades beginning from early 2000, she has been holding medical camps with the help of some volunteers from Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation in villages of Vadipatti and Angappankottom, relentlessly every second Sunday of the month catering to the medical needs of villagers, who lacked medical facilities or centres. She had always been kindly assisted by volunteering Doctors and medical professionals and the number of patients never dropped below 150 and sometime reaching 300 numbers. The medical camps organised were so popular that villagers from all and nearby village waited in queue to get themselves examined by expert Doctors and received medication free of cost and with latest medicines.

These medical camps were held in Government school premises with permission from respective school management. All these efforts for organising camps coordinating with Doctors, Pharmacists, volunteers and taking care of their need of refreshments, lunch and transportation were done by “Amma” with the help of few like-minded devotees and volunteers.

“To transform the world from its present state, there is no need for a new social system or a new religion or creed. What is essential is a body of men and women with sacred ideals.”

- Sri Sathya Sai Baba

NEED FOR TRUST

Having seen seed sown by ‘Amma’ bearing fruits, she decided to institutionalize this effort by forming a trust and thus SRI SAI PREMANJALI CHARTIABLE TRUST was born. Thereafter there has been no stopping for her efforts as more and more members joined to carryout the task she originally spearheaded.

Trust activities were funded so far mainly from trustees and close friends circle. During the period from April 16 to March 17, the ‘Amma’, donated land together with constructed building for the purpose of the medical (clinic) and other services of the trust at Kutladampatti, a village around 24 KM from Madurai town towards Dindigul.

The New building was aptly named as “AROGYA NILAYAM” (Abode of Health). The building was inaugurated on 30 th November 2014 by renowned Doctor Professor of Internal medicine, Dr.Narendranath Reddy, MD, who is also a chairman of Sri Sathya Sai World foundation, USA, and Dr.Hymavathi Reddy.

The trust has been conducting its medical camps and other service activities for rural poor as per the code of its charter with the help from the like-minded Volunteers from Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithis in Madurai District.
